Portfolio

These are a few finished comic pieces I threw together in order to showcase my abilities, although everything in this collection is also available to publish! If you’d like to discuss publication of one of these works, simply contact Zuzu.

Comics - Art and Story

Rick and Morty:

Genre: Sci-fi/Comedy

Summary: Rick, Summer and Morty decide to lay low on a seemingly harmless fantasy planet where the inhabitants’ actions are determined by a cosmic orb that randomly generates their successes. But it seems that Rick has a few ideas about how successful his portal gun could be with the right equipment…

*NOTE: Available for publishing really only for Oni, since they own the rights to Rick and Morty’s comics.
**OTHER NOTE: I wrote the script for this one 8 months before the official D&D/Rick and Morty crossover came out, so this was originally a lot more clever.

Untitled

Genre: Sci-fi

Originally designed as a pitch for Top Cow, this project ultimately fell through. However, I decided to include it here as a showcase of my more serious work: just look at all those spot blacks and watercolor textures!

The narrative material (script, summary, title, etc) is all owned by Isobelle Winter, and as such I have not included any of her intellectual property in this link or summary!

**NOTE: No longer available for publication

Comics - Scripts

Here’s where you can see how the sausage gets made! Writing the script is the very first step in my process, so I figured I’d make these scripts available for viewing. These are comics/zines that are slated to get worked on later this year, but can certainly get moved up in priority if publishers are interested.

I often have scripts ready to go long before the actual piece gets worked on, and if you look at my notes on the bottom, you’ll see that the longer I have a project, the more world-building notes get added to the script. I enjoy working this far ahead cause it really gives me time to get to know the characters and the world…

…It also means most of them are untitled and those log lines will change about six times.

Untitled

(sequel to a Beast with Five Fingers adaptation in 2017)

Genre: Sci-fi/Horror
Log Line:

Summary: Eustace Borlsover was resurrected to destroy a series of cyber-anomalies that threaten modern civilization. But the “glitches” in his own blurry memories are about to make him question why he’s been brought back to life…

Untitled

(College-aged witch mystery)

Genre: School drama/Mystery/Comedy
Log Line: They’re her biggest fans. But can they find the city’s biggest gem?

Summary: Five witches start a fan club at their school to honor their favorite magical superhero. But they end up investigating a missing diamond that could be the key to their idol’s disappearance… and the center of a sinister plot.

Hospital Horror

(Originally Written for an anthology of real locations with spooky legends)

Genre: Historical Horror
Log Line: My investigation into a funny name for a hospital turned into something much more sinister…

Summary: California has a long history and a lotta ghosts.  The story of Salsipuedes Hospital takes place in Santa Barbara and, like all good haunted places, it comes from a place with some serious history.

Untitled: Bio-hacking and Big Pharma

Genre: Sci-fi/Futurism
Log Line: When an entire city is in debt to a mob cutting the cost of pharmaceuticals, one woman takes matters into her own hands.

Summary: I wear an insulin pump, and a continuous glucose monitor. Human augmentation is impressive, and the theories about where we can take it, or if we will use it for good or evil, are both encouraging and terrifying.
